Product description

Rich, creamy and worth the wait.

Scientifically known as Pouteria sapota, mamey sapote is native to Mexico and Central America.

Beneath its rough brown skin lies rich, creamy, deep orange-red flesh surrounding a single large seed. Naturally sweet, its distinctive flavor brings together notes of pumpkin, sweet potato and almond.

What makes mamey sapote particularly special is the patience it demands. The fruit can take 12 to 24 months to grow and mature on the tree a fruit that simply can’t be rushed.

Enjoy it fresh with a spoon, blend it into smoothies, or use its creamy flesh in ice creams and desserts.

FRUIT IN ITS NATURAL FORM

Nature does not produce identical fruit. Variations in size, shape, colour and surface appearance are natural characteristics of fresh produce. Some fruits develop marks, uneven colouring or irregular shapes as part of their growth, without compromising their quality. We select fruit for its natural qualities, condition, ripeness and flavour, not for cosmetic uniformity.
