Product description

Not your everyday banana.

Also known as Orinoco, the burro banana takes its name from Venezuela's Orinoco River Valley, where it has long been grown.

Short, chunky and slightly square, it has a tangy-sweet flavor with a subtle hint of lemon, richer and more complex than a standard banana.

We hand-source our burro bananas from tropical farms, choosing fruit that is given time to ripen naturally.

Their firmer texture makes them great fresh, sliced into fruit bowls, or used in cooking and baking.

FRUIT IN ITS NATURAL FORM

Nature does not produce identical fruit. Variations in size, shape, colour and surface appearance are natural characteristics of fresh produce. Some fruits develop marks, uneven colouring or irregular shapes as part of their growth, without compromising their quality. We select fruit for its natural qualities, condition, ripeness and flavour, not for cosmetic uniformity.
